Huawei & PTCL signs nationwide strategic contract

Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. has today announced that it has signed a strategic contract with PTCL, the largest telecommunications company in Pakistan.

Huawei, according to the agreement, will build a complete nationwide LH DWDM Network for PTCL by replacing existing outdated 10G DWDM. It is the first time in Pakistan to introduce the cutting-edge 40G/wavelength (readiness) and ASON technology in its Nationwide DWDM Backbone Network to help PTCL transfer to IP Time with unlimited bandwidth providing capability.

Mr. Muhammad Nasrullah, Executive Vice President, PTCL, during the contract signing ceremony, said: "We are very confident with the DWDM solution that we are going to implement from Huawei. This will improve our capacity, performance and services, offer to our valuable customers."

Mr. Li Zhiqiang, Executive Director, Huawei commented: "Huawei greatly values its strategic cooperation with PTCL. We truly hope that Huawei DWDM solution will help PTCL to maintain and improve its leadership position in the telecom market of Pakistan."
